Predicate Noun
One of the simplest kind of proverbs that you can make is a TWO-WORD proverb with a subject and a predicate noun. Notice how many of these are based on an elegant little play on words!
Crux lux.
Eloquentia sagitta.
Haec via.
Homo bulla.
Innocentia eloquentia.
Iuventus ventus.
Laudator adulator.
Lumen numen.
Nocumentum documentum.
Nomen omen.
Scientia potentia.
Spes solamen.
Tutamen Deus.
Victrix patientia.
The important thing to remember with these proverbs is that there is an implied linking verb, so that the two words in the sentence are playing different grammatical roles: subject and predicate.
